“My name is Aziza Shaibu Hamadi, a am at grade fifth at Turini Primary School in Kisarawe District, Pwani Region. I transferred from Zanzibar in 2023 due to my parents relocating from Zanzibar to Tanzania Mainland. Upon joining, I was placed in third grade as I couldn’t read, write, or do basic math.
Later, I joined the Jifunze class a program that was run by Uwezo Tanzania in our school, where teacher, Waziri Mdoe taught us with songs, games, and kindness. After the first phase, I made significant progress, and by the end of 2023, I ranked second in my class. In 2024, I advanced to grade four, passed all my exams, and now I am in fifth grade.
