“My name is teacher, Waziri Shabani Mdoe, a teacher at Turini Primary School in Chakenge Village, Kisarawe District. I sincerely thank Uwezo Tanzania and its team for providing me with extensive training on various alternative teaching and learning methods.
In year 2023,under My Village project, I received training on Jifunze innovative teaching strategies that transformed my approach, distinguishing me from my colleagues. This training helped me reduce corporal punishment, prepare and use teaching aids effectively, and involve students in active learning. After the first phase of teaching, my students began excelling in exams and attending school regularly. Out of 55 students, 30 mastered basic literacy and numeracy (KKK) in only 10 first days of teaching after attending the training. After 30 days all students could read and numerate effectively. The Jifunze program has significantly improved education at my school, and I’m grateful to Uwezo Tanzania NGO for revolutionizing education in Kisarawe and other districts.” Waziri Shabani Mdoe, a teacher-Kisarawe District.
